Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Executive to join our ship owning entity. As an Accounts Executive, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organization. You will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the maritime industry and develop a solid foundation in accounting.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in maintaining financial records, including recording transactions, updating ledgers, and reconciling accounts.
2. Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established accounting procedures.
3. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
4. Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions at the Head Office, including invoice processing, payment verification, and customer/vendor communication.
5. Assist with bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs.
6. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities by gathering relevant financial data and preparing reports.
7. Conduct periodic audits of financial documents to identify errors, discrepancies, or irregularities.
8. Collaborate with the senior accounting team to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-making.
9. Assist with tax filings and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.
10. Contribute to process improvements, including the implementation of accounting software and automation tools.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's / Master’s Degree In Accounting And Finance.
2. Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software including Power B.I. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
4. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
5. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
7. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
9. Willingness to learn and develop new skills in the field of accounting and the maritime industry.
10. Prior accounting experience in shipping is desirable.
