Job description

Our client is a large marketing / PR type company in the UAE. Reporting into a newly appointed COO, this role is initially heavily focused on reviewing the existing finance team, improving where possible and building internal relationships with the SMT.

We’re looking for someone who’s young and dynamic, and would even consider someone at Managerial level from Big 4, looking for their first step into industry.

The Finance Director will lead the finance team and will have the following priorities:

  1. Understand the organization and its people/culture in order to be effective to the business as a whole and an important business partner to the COO.
  2. Provide strategic decision support and analysis.
  3. Fully review the current finance structure, and implement changes to policies and procedures where needed.
  4. Understand the industry market dynamics and the company’s approach in the industry.
  5. Undertake full budget process.
  6. Improving revenue and P&L forecasting accuracy.
  7. Improving business productivity through best practice sharing and ROI analysis.
  8. Strategic analysis and insight.
  9. Optimize the company’s performance management processes, procedures and methods in conjunction with the local businesses.
  10. Ensure effective communication and understanding of the financial, tax, and business performance processes and methodologies in order to influence decision-making.
  11. Ensure strong financial training and development of management teams.
  12. Participate and influence overall business decisions through strategic, market, and business model knowledge.

Requirements

Job Skills:

  1. 10+ years of broad financial leadership and partnering experience in top control and compliance cultures.
  2. Experience of working in improving environments.
  3. Room to grow professionally and personally. Candidates should be keen to develop their career further.
  4. Proven broad functional finance skills including accounting, business, planning, treasury, banking.
  5. Strong business acumen, proven strategic skills, intellectual agility.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships across country and cultural boundaries.
  7. Proven ability to influence, negotiate, establish credibility and partnership at all levels of an organization.
  8. Leadership skills and the ability to "get things done".
  9. "Can do" and "thinking out of the box" attitude combined with a hands-on, roll up sleeves approach.
  10. Courageous, rigorous, firm and demanding.
  11. Manages people and departments well.
  12. Strong values, integrity and accountability attitude.

Education:
• Bachelor Degree is required with an advanced financial degree or certification.
• MBA from a renowned institute is preferred.
• ACA / CIMA / ACCA or other internationally recognised accountancy qualification 10 years PQE.

Salary guideline: AED 35k gross/month
