Buro Happold in the UAE invites applications for a Junior Accountant – FP&A and Finance. The role focuses on FP&A support, accounting operations, budgeting, and financial compliance, reporting to the Head of Finance. It is open to UAE Nationals and offers a hybrid work setup within the UAE.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to FP&A, management reporting, and cross‑functional finance activities, building a solid foundation for progression.

Formación

• UAE National (Emirati) with Family Book is required.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of budgeting and FP&A concepts is an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office applications.
• ERP systems experience (SAP/Oracle/Dynamics 365) is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Support FP&A in budgeting, forecasts and financial planning.
• Assist with month-end close, journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare management accounts and financial statements.
• Process supplier invoices and employee expense claims.
• Ensure internal control compliance and VAT documentation.
• Collaborate with departments for financial insights and ad hoc analysis.

Buro Happold is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant – FP&A and Finance to join our team in the UAE.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support the Finance team in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), accounting operations, reporting, budgeting, and financial compliance activities. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to various finance functions while developing analytical and commercial finance skills.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
• Support monthly management reporting and variance analysis
• Analyse actual performance against budget and forecast and highlight key trends
• Prepare financial models and reports to support business decision‑making
• Maintain and update financial dashboards and KPIs

Accounting and Financial Reporting

• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Support the preparation of management accounts and financial statements
• Review transactions for accuracy and compliance with accounting policies
• Maintain general ledger records and supporting documentation

Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Assist in processing supplier invoices and employee expense claims
• Monitor customer receipts and follow up on outstanding balances
• Reconcile vendor and customer statements

Compliance and Controls

• Ensure adherence to company policies and internal controls
• Support VAT return preparation and related documentation
• Assist during internal and external audits
• Maintain organised financial records and audit files

Business Support

• Collaborate with operational departments to obtain financial information
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects
• Assist in identifying process improvements and efficiencies within finance operations

Your skills and experience

• UAE National (Emirati) with Family Book
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of experience in finance or accounting
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Knowledge of budgeting and FP&A concepts is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Dynamics 365 is an advantage
