A leading semi-government company based in Abu Dhabi is looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join its Business Partnership team on a renewable 6 month contract.
This is a broad, commercially focused finance role combining FP&A, business partnering, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and financial controllership. The successful candidate will work closely with business and senior stakeholders, providing financial insight and supporting strategic and operational decision-making.
We are searching for a qualified accountant with strong commercial finance experience and hands-on expertise in Oracle Fusion and Hyperion/EPM. Candidates who have moved across different areas of finance, particularly from finance consultancy, FP&A, financial planning or commercial finance, would be well suited to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes across the business.
- Provide regular financial performance reporting, variance analysis and gap analysis, identifying key drivers, risks and opportunities.
- Act as a trusted Finance Business Partner to business leaders, developing a strong understanding of their operations, objectives and financial requirements.
- Provide financial insight and consultancy to support strategic decisions, investments, business cases and commercial initiatives.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models, forecasts and scenario analyses to support decision-making.
- Analyse key business value drivers, including revenue, tariffs, contracts, operating costs and capital projects.
- Support commercial negotiations and contract structuring, providing financial analysis and recommendations.
- Build and review bottom-up budgets, ensuring assumptions are robust and aligned with business plans.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) from a budget and financial control perspective.
- Maintain effective budgetary controls, including the appropriate allocation of profit centres, cost centres and natural accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close and controllership activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
- Assess the financial impact of regulatory, tax and other external developments and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.
- Support audit activities, internal controls, financial governance and compliance requirements.
- Prepare clear and compelling management presentations and financial decks for business leaders, C-suite stakeholders, regulators, vendors and customers.
- Support internalisation initiatives and portfolio expansion activities, providing financial analysis and commercial insight.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency and long-term financial sustainability.
- Leverage financial systems and reporting tools to improve the quality, efficiency and automation of financial planning and reporting.
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent.
- Strong experience across FP&A, commercial finance, business partnering and financial analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion and Hyperion / Oracle EPM is essential.
- Strong understanding of financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles and financial controls.
- Experience working with complex business environments, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, energy, waste management or other capital-intensive industries.
- Demonstrated ability to translate financial data into commercial insights and actionable recommendations.
- Experience supporting contracts, negotiations, business cases and investment decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with business leaders and senior management.
- Experience preparing financial presentations and reporting packs for a variety of audiences, including C-suite, regulators, vendors and customers.
- Strong Power BI and data visualisation skills are preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable working in a broad role that combines FP&A, business partnering, commercial finance and controllership.
- Experience in a consulting/finance advisory environment combined with in-house FP&A or commercial finance experience would be advantageous.
