Job description

Role Purpose:

Provide strategic advice to DCT's management on all financial matters and deliver timely recommendations based on leading practices and sound financial information. Participate in influencing business decisions to ensure immediate and long-term implications, opportunities, and risks are fully considered, aligning with DCT's business plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Control:
    • Implement efficient management of DCT financials for the allocated sector/department through robust controls, systems, and processes.
    • Maintain a strong control and governance environment complying with regulatory requirements and internal policies, ensuring statutory compliance of all systems, processes, and accounting practices.
    • Administer approved accounting practices to ensure financial statements and reports accurately reflect account statuses and provide reliable information.
  2. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and analyze financial reports for the allocated sector/department, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with financial accounting standards.
    • Coordinate with payroll, procurement, accounts receivable, payable, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure all accounting treatments comply with IFRS and IAS, with timely preparation of financial statements as per statutory regulations.
  3. Liquidity Management:
    • Implement tools and systems to support critical financial decisions and provide actionable recommendations to ensure healthy cash flow.
    • Participate in securing timely funding for investment requirements.
  4. Shared Activities:
    • Perform any other duties related to the role as requested by the manager.
    • Follow departmental policies and procedures to ensure work is controlled and consistent.
    • Demonstrate compliance with organizational values and ethics to foster a value-driven culture.
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, considering global standards, productivity, and cost reduction.
  5. Communication and Business Relationships:
    • Internal: Engage with Executive, Senior, and Middle Management.
    • External: Collaborate with regulators, external auditors, and consultants.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent.
  • Professional Certifications: CA, ACCA, or CPA preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years in sourcing, procurement, or similar roles.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written); bilingual in Arabic desirable.
  • Skilled in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete tasks timely.
  • Extensive knowledge of rebate schemes, preferably with UAE best practices.
  • Experience in business planning and program management related to finance and policy.
