Position Overview
Provide maintenance and repair to Company equipment to ensure that assigned equipment is kept in efficient working condition in compliance with the Company’s quality standards and manufacturer requirements. Operate casing tubing tongs and maintain spare parts relevant to equipment operation and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain casing tubing tongs, ensuring safe operation.
- Understand the operation and routine maintenance requirements of all tubular handling and clearing equipment.
- Initiate changes to quality procedures and work instructions as required to perform jobs efficiently and safely.
- Maintain power tongs and power units, following routine and specific maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot tubular handling and cleaning equipment independently.
- Prepare accurate delivery tickets, job reports, timesheets, and other administrative forms.
- Prepare and dispatch equipment according to checklist procedures.
- Assist the maintenance supervisor with special assignments and perform pipe‑yard duties as necessary.
- Act as trainer for Service Technicians I & II.
- Operate pipe‑yard equipment such as cleaning and bucking machines.
- When on stand‑by, maintain contact with the Operations Supervisor / Coordinator via telephone.
- Report accidents, incidents, or near‑misses in accordance with the company’s HSE Manual.
- Attend monthly HSE meetings and recommend changes to existing HSE procedures.
- Perform other assignments as directed by supervisory personnel.
- Ensure compliance with QHSSE and EEP operations for relevant functions.
- Work in full compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and all related policies.
- Promote good health, safety and environmental practices across all company activities.
- Wear assigned personal protective equipment and keep the work area neat, organized and free of trip hazards.
- Report hazards, equipment or other workplace shortcomings to a superior without delay.
- Support continual improvement of the integrated management system by proposing safer and more efficient ways to perform tasks.
- Participate in HSEQ training, toolbox talks, HSEQ meetings and other required trainings.
Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical or electronic applications, or past rig operation / casing and tubing running.
- Knowledge of oil and gas products, services, and equipment.
- Physical ability to respond immediately to emergency situations.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of hydraulic and mechanical electronic systems.
- Ability to safely and satisfactorily perform any casing and tubing tong assignment.
