JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The Service Equipment Technician is responsible for performing service, maintenance, and calibration of Service Equipment such as Torque Masters, jar testers, and other equipment. The role requires onsite work at customer locations, including internationally, ensuring equipment is fully operational, safe, and compliant with specifications. Accurate documentation and adherence to company and industry standards are essential.

Field Service & Maintenance

  • Perform servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of torque tools, jar testers, and other mechanical/hydraulic service equipment at customer sites.
  • Conduct functional tests to verify the performance of equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is serviced according to NOV procedures.


Travel

  • Travel to customer sites within and outside the base country as required, sometimes at short notice.
  • Maintain a professional and safe working environment while representing the company on-site.


Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete all maintenance logs, service reports, calibration certificates, and customer paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Provide detailed service documentation and report any non-conformances or issues observed during service.


Safety & Compliance

  • Comply with all company HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies and site-specific safety protocols.
  • Identify potential hazards and ensure corrective measures are taken.


Equipment Support

  • Maintain the service equipment in-house and ensure tools are in working condition.
  • Support the calibration and inspection schedules of equipment.


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential

  • Diploma in mechanical, or hydraulic engineering, or any related technical field
  • Min 2 years experience in similar position
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently and under pressure in field environments.
  • Good command of English language (reading speaking and writing)


Desirable

  • Bacholors in Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Previous relevant experience in O&G industry
