Job summary

GE Vernova is offering a 12-month Field Service Engineer - Trainee internship in Dubai, UAE. The program develops general field technical skills and on-the-job knowledge to serve client sites in power system projects.

It focuses on protection relays, SCADA, DCS/SCS, cyber security, and field service coordination. You will gain hands-on experience supporting engineers, coordinating tests, and assisting with installation and testing of control systems at substation sites, while aligning with EHS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Localization preferences favor UAE nationals with a Family Book.
• UAE nationals with Family Book encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support GE Vernova engineers in preparing signal lists from schematics and documents.
• Assist field service works on protection relays, panels modification, and related drawings.
• Support production documents and relay setting calculations.
• Assist field service activities for Substation Automation Systems including DCS/SCS and cyber security.
• Coordinate site activities, EHS, and tests for digital inputs and SCADA signals.
• Support installation and testing of SCS system at site (fiber layout, PC installation, wiring).
• Follow project plans to meet milestones and ensure PPE readiness for personnel.

The internship is a 12 months program, and it is an investment in young talents who meet the required criteria to perform in the selected role and get orientation for future roles in the energy market. This program will help you in developing general field technical skills and provide you on-the- job knowledge to serve clients sites.

Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Support GEV engineer for preparation Signal List from Schematics and other applicable documents.

• Support handle engineering and field service works for [Protection Relays, Panels modification, protection logic diagram, GA/LA, Bill of Materials, Purchasing requests, Protection/SCMS/LCC Schematics, SCMS/Cyber Security Architectures, SCMS Signal list, Cable Schedule, Control Desk Drawing, IEC61850 signal mapping, etc..].

• Support for all Production documents (Wiring Table/Label list/Cable Schedule/Interpanel wiring files), CT/VT Adequacy check, Relay setting calculations.

• Support GEV engineer for Field Services activity of the Substation Automation Systems including DCS/SCS, RTU and Cyber security.

• Support all technical activities for assigned projects (EHS coordination and follow up, Site works).

• Support GEV engineer to coordinate, record tests for digital inputs, controls, measurements, interlocks, IEC61850 IED’s, SCADA signals and SCS functionalities.

• Support the installation of the SCS system at the site (Fiber optic layout, PC installation at panels, SCS consoles wiring, installation, and testing).

• Follow the project planning to ensure timely achievement of project milestones as per project schedule.

• Coordinate workplace EHS issues and ensure the availability of suitable PPE for T&C personnel, both internal and subcontracted.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Machine Power, Electrical Power, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Control and instrumentation, Energy Engineering, Renewable energy, Electronics, cybersecurity, or/ and Artificial Intelligence, or a related field from accredited university.

• Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• In line with the localization requirements of UAE, preference will be given to qualified UAE National talents.

• UAE Nationals holding a Family Book are encouraged to apply
