Job summary

Baker Hughes in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Field Service Engineer - Centrifugal Compressor to supervise field site activities and deliver quality service to customers in the energy sector.

The role requires a BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering or a 3-year Diploma with extensive rotating equipment experience, strong technical and communication skills, and hands-on installation/maintenance of centrifugal compressors at customer sites.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years experience, or a full-time 3-year Technical Diploma with 8+ years in industry.
• Experience with rotating equipment (centrifugal compressors) in the field at customer sites.
• Excellent functional/technical, customer focus, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and support to clients and craft labour in maintenance of Baker Hughes centrifugal compressors.
• Unload and inspect the centrifugal compressor and major auxiliaries at installation sites and position on foundations.
• Improve geometric dimensional checks of foundation, equipment and auxiliary skids—leveling and alignment.
• Perform maintenance on Nuovo Pignone centrifugal compressors (MCL, BCL, PCL, SRL) at customer sites.
• Perform minor and major inspections; assess wear and condition of seals, bearings, couplings, and related components.

As a Field Service Engineer - Centrifugal Compressors, you will be coordinating and overseeing work at the field site, providing quality service to the customer. In addition, your Job role may include providing the planning necessary for the job including instructions to the crew and equipment.

• Providing technical advice and support to clients and craft labour in the maintenance of Baker Hughes-supplied Centrifugal Compressors.
• Unloading and Inspection of the Centrifugal Compressor & its major auxiliaries at the installation site and their placement on the foundation.
• Improving Geometric dimensional check of foundation, equipment and auxiliary skids positioning, levelling, and alignment.
• Performing maintenance activities of various types of Nuovo Pignone Centrifugal Compressors MCL, BCL, PCL, and SRL supplied by Baker Hughes at customer sites.
• Performing minor & major inspections of Centrifugal Compressors. Involving assembly, disassembly, checking and adjusting clearances evaluating wear and damage state of Couplings, lubricated-tooth, and dry-elastic types, thrust bearings and journal bearings of various kinds, gas seals, labyrinth and honeycomb types, Oil seals, gauged floating rings types, Dry gas seals or oil mechanical seals, Labyrinth or honeycomb inner seals, Diaphragms or diaphragms bundle and volutes.

Fuel your passion

• Have a BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years OR a full-time 3-year Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
• Have working experience in Rotating equipment (Centrifugal Compressor - Vertical/Horizontal) in the Field at Customer Sites.
• Have excellent Functional/Technical, Customer Focus, Communication, Interpersonal, and Team working skills.
• Have prior experience in Installation and/or Maintenance activities of Centrifugal Compressors in the Field at Customer Sites.
