Job Description
Role Overview
Installation, service, and support of Rapiscan X-RAY screening systems in the UAE/MEA region. This role will primarily support all X-ray and Trace product lines of Rapiscan systems across multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Work on Rapiscan’s Product Line: installation, commissioning, and service support of X-ray and Trace systems in UAE/MEA.
- Conduct service site surveys prior to installations and prepare professional site reports.
- Perform fitting, system diagnosis, troubleshooting, and fault finding on detection systems and subsystems, including repair, maintenance, and overhaul.
- Complete technical documentation such as service reports, engineering change requests, and input data into a database. Ensure timely completion of Field Modification Instructions and maintenance documentation.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance and attend call-outs.
- Conduct detailed failure analysis, investigations, reporting, and resolution.
- Recommend spare parts to management based on service levels and intervals.
- Submit service and non-conformance reports promptly.
- Provide feedback to Engineering, Product Line Management, and QA for continuous improvement.
- Participate in departmental ad-hoc duties and special projects.
- Interface with operators, technicians, and BHS managers regarding equipment status.
- Adhere to all health and safety requirements at the company and customer sites.
- Make technical decisions and consult with Engineering/PLM as needed.
- Serve as the focal point for requests or disputes.
- Formulate and close technical incident reports.
- Raise, implement, and close change requests.
- Distribute information and obtain permissions for planned work.
- Recommend improvements to ensure equipment availability.
- Attend technical meetings as required.
Qualifications
- BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Postgraduate qualification in Electrical Engineering is desirable.
- IT qualifications (Microsoft, Cisco, etc.) are a plus.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, civil, hydraulic, electronics, or complex electro-mechanical systems; or HV systems in medical or industrial engineering.
- 3-4 years of experience in field service, preferably in the X-ray industry.
- Knowledge of electronic and mechanical assemblies, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Familiarity with test equipment (DVM) and experience with high voltage and X-ray equipment preferred.
- Proficiency in business communication, both oral and written.
- Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy with MS Office and aptitude for specialized software.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with minimal oversight.
- Flexible schedule, including non-standard hours, on-call, weekends, and holidays.
