Job summary

A leading industrial company in Dubai seeks a Field Operator to monitor and manage plant operations. The ideal candidate should possess a Higher Secondary School Certificate, over 4 years in a power station, and at least 2 years as a Desalination Operator. English proficiency and knowledge of operational procedures are essential. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a power station environment.
• Minimum 2 years as a Desalination Operator (PG7) or equivalent in power/desalination operations.
• Prior GCC market experience (Bahrain, KSA, or Qatar) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow instructions promptly and ensure smooth plant operation.
• Record operating parameters, identify deviations, and report abnormalities.
• Keep standby equipment ready for emergencies.
• Assist in routine testing and recommissioning after maintenance shutdown.
• Follow all safety procedures and identify potential hazards.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Participate in training and mentor junior operators.
• Be familiar with emergency procedures for all assigned systems.

Skills

Knowledge of plant operation (gas/steam turbines, HRSGs, utilities)

English proficiency for reporting (Intermediate 3 level)

Understanding of single-line diagrams

IT literacy and basic numeracy skills

Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Job Purpose

Operate and monitor gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, potline rectifiers, and associated utility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations in the assigned area, following instructions from the Shift Supervisor or Main Control Room Operator
