Job description

Black & Grey HR is seeking a Field Engineer to join our client's offshore and subsea operations team on a permanent basis in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating offshore installation activities, including sleepers, mattresses, risers, grout bags, and other subsea installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements. The role will involve close coordination with marine crews, installation teams, onshore engineering, and project management to ensure safe and efficient offshore execution.

This is a permanent position — not a contract — with a 60-day on / 30-day off rotation providing genuine recovery time between deployments. When not offshore, you are shore-based at the client's Abu Dhabi facility supporting pre-mobilisation engineering activities and project close-out documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise offshore installation activities, including sleepers, mattresses, risers, grout bags, and other subsea installations.
  • Monitor installation quality and provide technical guidance to offshore installation crews.
  • Coordinate with marine operations to ensure efficient vessel positioning and equipment deployment.
  • Monitor daily installation progress and ensure productivity targets are achieved.
  • Conduct installation inspections and quality verification throughout offshore operations.
  • Maintain installation procedures, quality records, and relevant project documentation.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during offshore installation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with client specifications, project procedures, and applicable technical standards.
  • Implement offshore safety procedures and ensure HSE compliance throughout operations.
  • Coordinate with marine crews on safe installation and equipment‑handling activities.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and emergency response procedures as required.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during complex offshore installations.
  • Interface with onshore engineering and project teams for technical coordination and issue resolution.
  • Support equipment troubleshooting and maintenance coordination during offshore operations.
  • Participate in client meetings and onboard daily progress meetings, providing technical updates and installation status.
  • Assist with the mobilization of marine units, including documentation, equipment, and personnel readiness, during onshore periods.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of offshore operations experience, including 10+ years of subsea sleeper installation experience is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in offshore subsea installation and marine operations.
  • Valid BOSIET and HUET certifications.
  • Subsea operations certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore operations, subsea installation, quality control, and marine coordination.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively in offshore environments.
  • Strong understanding of offshore safety standards, subsea installation procedures, and marine operations requirements.
  • Strong safety awareness with the ability to work effectively in demanding offshore environments.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with offshore crews, clients, and onshore teams.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and technical competence.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED (Please attach the below certificates)
  • BOSIET or HUET — must be valid and current. Candidates with an expired BOSIET/HUET will not be shortlisted. Please attach a copy of your certificate with your application.
  • ADNOC Facility Access Approval — held or a clearly documented ability to obtain. Candidates who have previously held ADNOC access or worked on ADNOC-approved projects are at a significant advantage.
Benefits
  • Permanent employment with a growing organization.
  • 60/30 offshore rotation schedule.
  • ADNOC project exposure and international project opportunities.
  • Exposure to advanced USV and offshore technology.
  • Long-term career growth with a stable organization.
