Job summary

GOTION HIGH-TECH in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Field Applications Engineer to provide on-site and remote technical support for utility-scale BESS projects, focusing on commissioning, grid connection, and performance testing.

You will diagnose complex field issues, coordinate with R&D and Quality teams, and help ensure system availability. Travel flexibility is required to support customers and partners across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or related fields.
• 3–5+ years of commissioning, grid-connection, or performance-testing experience in large-scale BESS, solar, or other renewable energy projects.
• Strong understanding of BESS architecture and BMS protection/control logic.
• Hands-on PCS/BMS commissioning and grid-connection experience.
• Fluent English; additional regional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel extensively or be based in the region.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning, grid connection, performance testing, troubleshooting, and operation of BESS equipment including battery systems, PCS, BMS, and EMS.
• Lead or support on-site electrical commissioning and system integration during grid-connection activities.
• Diagnose complex field issues and coordinate with R&D, Engineering, and Quality teams for root-cause analysis and resolution.
• Support customers, local service partners, and internal service teams to maintain system availability and operational performance.
• Understand regional power-system requirements and translate field and customer feedback into product and system improvement actions.
• Prepare and maintain commissioning procedures, test reports, troubleshooting guides, O&M documentation, and technical SOPs.
• Train and technically support local service partners.
