Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fiber Installation Technician to join our growing team. In this role you will be responsible for installing testing and maintaining fiber optic systems to ensure reliable high-speed internet and communication services. You will work in residential commercial and industrial environments providing top-quality service and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and terminate fiber optic cables (FTTH FTTP FTTB etc.)

• Test and troubleshoot fiber networks using OTDRs power meters and other diagnostic equipment

• Interpret blueprints schematics and technical drawings

• Splice fiber optic cables and enclosures in aerial and underground settings

• Ensure all installations meet industry standards and safety regulations

• Communicate effectively with customers team members and supervisors

• Maintain accurate documentation of installation testing and repair activities

• Provide technical support during service outages or system upgrades

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or related field preferred

• 1-3 years of experience in fiber optic installation or similar role

• Familiarity with fiber optic tools and equipment (fusion splicer OTDR etc.)

• Strong understanding of networking principles and fiber technology

• Valid drivers license with clean driving record

• Ability to lift and carry equipment work in confined spaces and at heights

• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as FOA CFOT or equivalent

• Experience with aerial or underground fiber deployments

• Knowledge of local/state regulations related to telecom installation
