I am seeking a qualified and experienced Head of Department for English to join for the next academic year. My client is an expanding school in the growing Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah serving a mainly Emirati population of students. The students are well-behaved and keen to learn. The school follows the Colorado state curriculum, which is modified to help the students raise their level. The school has recently acquired new premises that are well-facilitated and resourced.

Teachers at this school are from overseas and locally based. Students are mixed from KG to Grade 5, and after that, it is an all-girls school. I am looking for someone with strong English pedagogy and the ability to review KG, Elementary, Middle, and High School. You will be required to do some teaching, but the focus of this role is to manage the delivery of English throughout the school.

The school requires someone with experience in developing the curriculum, conducting lesson observations, providing feedback, and carrying out INSETs to raise the standard of teaching and learning in the school.

Requirements to Apply

• Degree in English
• A valid teaching qualification in English PGCE with QTS
• Highly desirable: An MA in Education
• Western trained
• Ideally have experience with the USA curriculum but not mandatory
• Up to date with modern pedagogy
• Experience in managing teaching staff
• Experience in conducting training
• Tech-savvy
