Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Diploma in Fashion Design or related discipline.

  • Ability to develop fashion concepts, sketches, mood boards, technical drawings, and design presentations.
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D or equivalent tools.

Role Description

The Fashion Designer is responsible for developing creative and commercially relevant fashion concepts, collections, and product designs that align with brand identity, customer preferences, and market trends. The role involves translating creative ideas into sketches, technical drawings, color concepts, fabric selections, and finished product specifications. Key responsibilities include researching fashion trends, consumer preferences, materials, colors, silhouettes, and market developments to generate new design concepts. The Fashion Designer will develop mood boards, sketches, design presentations, garment details, and technical specifications while working closely with merchandising, product development, sourcing, production, and marketing teams. The role also involves selecting suitable fabrics, trims, colors, prints, and finishes; reviewing samples; refining designs based on fit, quality, functionality, and aesthetic requirements; and ensuring that final products remain consistent with the intended design direction. The Fashion Designer is expected to maintain organized design files and contribute ideas that improve product appeal, creativity, quality, and commercial value. The position requires a strong understanding of fashion aesthetics, creativity, technical design, and current industry trends. The Fashion Designer should be able to balance artistic vision with practical considerations such as functionality, manufacturability, cost, quality, and target customer requirements. Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of fashion design principles, garment construction, textiles, materials, colors, patterns, and silhouettes. Ability to develop fashion concepts, sketches, mood boards, technical drawings, and design presentations. Proficiency in relevant design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D, or equivalent tools. Good knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment details, finishing techniques, and production processes. Strong awareness of fashion trends, consumer preferences, and contemporary design developments. Strong creative thinking, visual sense, and ability to develop original design concepts. Good understanding of color coordination, proportions, styling, and product aesthetics. Strong attention to detail with a focus on design quality and consistency. Ability to collaborate effectively with product development, merchandising, sourcing, production, and marketing teams. Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple design projects. Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate design concepts clearly.
