Job description

The Preparatory Year Program at BMC Dubai is seeking a highly qualified faculty member with expertise in Arabic language Islamic Culture and UAE societal diversity. This role involves teaching courses that build students understanding of Islamic culture effective health science communication in Arabic and the rich cultural diversity of the UAE society. The candidate should have a PhD in Arabic & Islamic Studies or related fields and be committed to fostering intercultural competence critical thinking and ethical awareness consistent with KHDA and institutional standards.


Core Responsibilities:
Teaching & Curriculum Delivery
  • Deliver lectures and facilitate active learning sessions on:

    • Islamic Culture and its values

    • Health Science Communication in Arabic

    • UAE Society and Cultural Diversity

  • Develop course materials and assessments aligned with KHDA learning outcomes and QFEmirates frameworks.

  • Employ interactive teaching strategies to engage students in discussions on cultural and ethical topics relevant to healthcare.

Academic Support & Advising
  • Provide academic support and guidance to preparatory year students.

  • Monitor student progress and intervene as needed to promote academic success.

Curriculum Development & Quality Assurance
  • Participate in curriculum design review and quality assurance processes.

  • Assist in preparing documentation for KHDA audits and institutional accreditation.

Professional Development & Community Engagement
  • Engage in continuous professional development related to Islamic culture Arabic language teaching and UAE societal studies.

  • Contribute to community outreach and cultural awareness initiatives within the college.


Requirements
  • Masters in Arabic Language Islamic Studies or closely related field from an accredited university.

  • UAE MOE Equivalency Certificate (or in process).

  • Minimum 3 years of higher education teaching experience preferably in KHDA-regulated institutions.

  • Proficiency in Arabic language teaching and curriculum development.

  • Familiarity with UAE cultural diversity and social values.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching Health Science Communication in Arabic.

  • Knowledge of pedagogical methods for multicultural and diverse classrooms.

  • Ability to use educational technology tools effectively.
