Job summary

A leading facilities management company in Dubai is seeking an experienced Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and safety of all building systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 8 years of experience in facility management. Responsibilities include managing maintenance activities, leading a team, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Fluency in Arabic is required, and experience in the UAE is preferred.

Job description

To oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and safety of all building systems and facilities. The Facility Manager will ensure a smooth, efficient, and cost-effective operation of company properties while maintaining the highest standards of service and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance activities across HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and civil infrastructure.
  • Lead a team of technicians and external contractors, ensuring performance meets company standards and safety protocols.
  • Develop and manage the annual facilities budget, ensuring efficient control of expenditures.
  • Ensure the implementation of emergency response procedures and the readiness of all facilities.
  • Plan and implement facility upgrades, renovations, and expansion projects in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for building systems, permits, and service contracts.
  • Provide regular performance and incident reports to senior management.
  • Ensure all facility operations comply with local authority regulations and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to secure the best value and service levels.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in facility management or technical maintenance roles, including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory position.
  • Solid knowledge of HVAC systems, building management systems (BMS), electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of CMMS systems is a plus.
  • Fluent in Arabic (required); good command of English is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Certifications (a plus):

  • PMP, NEBOSH, or Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
  • Experience working in the UAE or GCC region is an added advantage.
