PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and operational readiness of high-standard residential and bespoke development projects managed by the GCEO Special Projects Office. This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer who can ensure exceptional quality in all aspects of building systems, infrastructure, and fit-out works. With a focus on select high-priority assets, the Facilities Engineer will manage technical requirements from design coordination through to handover and long-term operational performance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Oversight & Technical Management:
- Manage the MEP and civil infrastructure aspects of select premium residential properties and special-use developments from construction to occupancy.
- Coordinate with internal and external consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless delivery of all technical packages.
- Oversee site activities to ensure work is progressing as per specifications, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
Operations Readiness & Maintenance Planning:
- Prepare and implement asset handover plans, ensuring readiness for operation upon completion.
- Develop preventive maintenance strategies, service schedules, and vendor management plans for completed properties.
- Ensure all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BMS, security, etc.) are installed, tested, and functioning to the highest standard.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all technical matters related to the assigned assets, ensuring alignment with the expectations of the GCEO Office.
- Liaise with procurement and logistics teams for sourcing high-end finishes, materials, or systems as needed.
Coordinate with facility management vendors, designers, and fit-out contractors for seamless transition from construction to occupancy.
Quality Assurance & Documentation:
- Conduct regular site inspections and technical audits to ensure compliance with design intent and safety standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all works, systems, warranties, and service agreements for the assigned properties.
- Support ongoing improvements, renovations, or upgrades as needed, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum discretion.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Additional certifications in facilities management or building services is an advantage.
EXPERIENCE
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in facilities engineering, with strong exposure to high-end residential or hospitality assets.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction through to operational handover for complex or premium-level properties.
SKILLS
- Solid understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, smart home technologies, etc.).
- Strong coordination and vendor management skills.
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering best-in-class standards.
- Discreet, reliable, and capable of managing sensitive projects with professionalism.
- Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD; knowledge of CAFM systems is a plus.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
