Job summary

Al Abbar Group is seeking an experienced CAD designer with a background in 3D design using Inventor or SolidWorks. You will gather project information, produce detailed drawings, interpret specifications, and ensure compliance with BOQs and architectural/structural requirements.

Your role includes delivering on time, resolving technical issues with fabrication and site teams, and coordinating with factory personnel to support procurement and design tasks.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (University graduate).
• Minimum 6 years of experience in 3D design using Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work additional hours to meet deadlines.
• Strong team-player attitude.

Responsibilities

• Gather and review project information from stakeholders including contractors and architects.
• Produce plans, elevations, sections, shop drawings, MTOs, cutting lists and concept designs.
• Interpret contract specifications and construction drawings.
• Ensure shop drawings comply with architectural and structural requirements and BOQs.
• Deliver design and drafting work on time while maintaining quality.
• Support fabrication and site teams by resolving technical issues.
• Coordinate with factory and site personnel and provide technical assistance.
• Support material planning and procurement with timely information.
• Complete assigned design tasks within project schedules.

• Gather and review project information from internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, architects, production, and export teams.
• Produce accurate plans, elevations, sections, shop drawings, material take-offs (MTO), cutting lists, concept designs, and setting-out drawings.
• Interpret contract specifications and construction drawings.
• Ensure shop drawings comply with architectural and structural requirements and approved BOQs.
• Deliver design and drafting work on time while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
• Support fabrication and site teams by resolving technical issues and implementing corrective measures when required.
• Coordinate with factory and site personnel and provide necessary technical assistance.
• Support material planning and procurement activities by providing timely information for material pre-ordering.
• Complete assigned design and drafting tasks within project schedules and program requirements.
