Role Description
Facade Design Manager is responsible to lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative and high-quality facade systems for our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the facade design process, including conceptual design, technical development, and construction documentation for multiple projects.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to integrate the facade design with overall project goals, ensuring the seamless integration of aesthetics, function, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage and mentor a team of facade designers, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative, innovative, and efficient work environment.
- Conduct regular design reviews and present facade design concepts and strategies to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Evaluate and recommend the selection of materials, technologies, and facade systems based on performance criteria, sustainability, and budget considerations.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and industry standards, and work closely with regulatory authorities to obtain approvals as necessary.
- Manage the interface between the facade design and other building systems, including structural, mechanical, and electrical components.
- Oversee the preparation of technical specifications, drawings, and reports related to facade systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that may arise during the design, construction, or post-construction phases of the project.
- Review and monitor facade performance testing, including thermal, acoustic, and environmental assessments.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in facade design, materials, and technologies, integrating them into future projects as appropriate.
- Manage project schedules and budgets related to the facade design scope, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers to ensure successful project outcomes and future business opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in facade design, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale and complex projects, ideally in high-rise, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong knowledge of facade materials, systems, and technologies, including curtain walls, cladding, glazing, and energy-efficient solutions.
- In-depth understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to facade design.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, and 3D modeling programs.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Experience with sustainability and green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and manage relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Preferred Skills:
- Professional certification (e.g., LEED AP, AIA, etc.).
- Knowledge of advanced digital fabrication techniques and parametric design.
- Experience with facade performance simulations and testing.
- International project experience and understanding of global facade trends.
