Job description

We are looking for a highly experienced and results-driven Fabrication Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing teams, optimizing production schedules, ensuring quality standards, maintaining equipment, and meeting customer delivery timelines. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in fabrication processes, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage daily operations of the fabrication department, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and safety.
  2. Oversee the fabrication of metal structures or components, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  3. Supervise, train, and develop fabrication team members, including machinists, welders, and operators.
  4. Monitor and optimize production schedules to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.
  5. Review engineering drawings and work orders, providing guidance on manufacturability and improvements.
  6. Ensure preventive maintenance and proper functioning of fabrication equipment and tools.
  7. Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  8. Collaborate with design, quality, procurement, and other departments to streamline operations.
  9. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, downtime, and material utilization.
  10. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
  11. Manage departmental budgets, resource planning, and cost control.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (preferred).
  2. Proven experience (5+ years) in a fabrication management or supervisory role.
  3. Strong knowledge of fabrication processes including cutting, welding, forming, and machining.
  4. Proficient in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  6. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and ERP systems.
  7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  8. Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Preferred Skills:
  1. Certification in Welding or Fabrication Technology.
  2. Experience with CNC and automated fabrication systems.
  3. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
