Job summary

GHD Middle East invites applications for Structural Design Engineers (All levels) in Abu Dhabi. Our global network includes architects, designers, planners, engineers and environmental scientists delivering projects to international standards.

You will design building structures in steel, concrete and masonry, work toward Chartered Engineer status, and contribute to projects on time while mentoring junior staff. The hybrid model offers three office days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in civil / structural engineering.
• 8 years of professional experience on building and infrastructure projects.
• Working towards or Chartered Engineer (MICE, MIStructE).
• Experience in design and specification of building structures in steel, concrete and masonry to American and British Standards.
• Be familiar with local UAE Authority design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering design activities, ensuring accuracy, technical quality, and compliance with project requirements and international standards.
• Contribute to and delivery of projects in a team environment, including personal responsibility and ownership of projects.
• Production of deliverables to programmed timescales.
• Knowledge sharing and mentoring of less experienced team members.
• Interpretation and application of client, industry and GHD standards.
• Work collaboratively with other GHD offices on local and international projects.

What You\'ll Do

What You\'ll Bring

• Working towards or Chartered Engineer (MICE, MIStructE).
• Experience in the design and specification of building structures in steel, concrete and masonry to American and British Standards.
• Be familiar with local UAE Authority design requirements.
• A knowledge of practices and procedures used within the retail, commercial and/or industrial sectors would be an advantage.
• Have experience of delivering projects from design through completion in the multi-disciplinary and /or multi office project execution environment.
• Experienced user of structural engineering software including CSi ETABS, SAFE, Robot structural Analysis, STAAD, Prokon in addition to in-house spreadsheets.
• Experience of working within a 3D design environment is needed and an ability to work to BIM protocols would be desirable.
