The Role of Work Management Expert is mainly to govern and ensure compliance with the work management system and to continuously improve it at Emirates Steel. Continuous improvement should focus on KPI management, especially Work Management KPI Lagging indicators. The role involves liaising with stakeholders to ensure effective work management processes, aiming for continuous improvement in individual and team KPIs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor work management and reliability performance KPIs.
- Continuously improve the work management system to enhance plant reliability.
- Enhance the efficiency of the work management system to minimize labor waste across various processes.
- Standardize work management processes across Emirates Steel plants with Maintenance and Plant Managers.
- Maximize schedule compliance and attainment.
- Assist the Reliability Manager in implementing improved maintenance window frequencies.
- Support the Shutdown and Planning Manager in achieving efficient planning for major shutdowns.
- Audit the work management system for KPI compliance, stakeholder roles, meeting and reporting standards.
- Implement improvements based on audit findings and refine the audit process.
- Communicate work management procedures and changes effectively to all stakeholders.
- Align the work management system with current practices and continuous improvements.
- Manage spares in sub-stores across the site within SAP.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Strategic Spares Management Expert and Material Section Head for spares management.
- Work with the Continuous Improvement team to reduce costs via Lean principles.
- Manage automatic KPIs related to work management categories.
- Align work management with Reliability Centered Maintenance and asset criticality procedures.
- Ensure targeted tool time is achieved through auditing, training, and implementation.
- Manage demand and supply by integrating work and spares management systems, overseeing budgets, and coordinating with end-users for demand planning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Knowledge of inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent command of English.
- Understanding of regulatory, safety, and environmental compliance.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or engineering qualification.
Preferred Professional Training
Required Professional Experience
- At least 5 years in planning or work management roles.
- At least 5 years' experience with ERP systems.
Additional Recommended Experience
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Maintenance Management, Asset or RCM Training.
