Job summary

Sembol Construction seeks an experienced HSE Engineer for a large-scale UAE project located at Ghuwaifat – Al Sila, Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on implementing HSE management systems, conducting risk assessments and overseeing high‑risk construction activities on‑site.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of UAE construction HSE experience, strong knowledge of ISO 45001, and excellent communication skills to lead investigations and trainings. UAE regulations knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Recognized HSE qualifications and certifications required.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in UAE construction.
• Strong background in civil construction, ground improvement, piling, and high‑risk activities.
• Proven experience implementing ISO 45001 HSE management systems and conducting investigations.
• Excellent knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and site compliance.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies and management systems compliant with UAE regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, JSA, method statement reviews, site inspections and safety audits.
• Ensure HSE compliance across building construction, civil works, piling and ground improvement activities.
• Supervise high‑risk activities such as excavation, confined space entry, and work at height.
• Oversee lifting operations, heavy equipment movement and other critical activities.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct toolbox talks, inductions and HSE trainings for site personnel.
• Monitor compliance with approved method statements, risk assessments, permit-to-work, and emergency procedures.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure effective HSE implementation on site.
