Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for the retention and growth of key accounts, as well as generating revenue from new businesses within the dmg Asia Energy Portfolio. The role involves closing high-value deals with large, blue-chip Japanese companies at senior management or director levels.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts with five and six-figure contract values effectively.
- Cultivate strong relationships with multiple senior stakeholders using a consultative approach.
- Achieve and exceed revenue and profit targets.
- Research market objectives, aims, and ambitions of clients.
- Work closely with each business to identify aims, objectives, and requirements.
- Create strong partnership propositions by tailoring available opportunities.
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities into long-term relationships.
- Collaborate with other departments such as content, marketing, and sales as one team.
- Support leadership roles and mentor others when appropriate.
- Attend events and liaise onsite with exhibitor and sponsor clients to ensure contract fulfillment and address concerns.
- Stay updated with industry developments and trends through various publications.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- Fluent in Japanese with strong commercial knowledge of the Japanese market.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in B2B conference and exhibition sponsorship sales, preferably within the energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of the energy sector, including renewable energy.
- Understanding of the energy market from commercial and technical perspectives is advantageous.
- Experience in managing ambitious sales targets and training sales teams.
- Proven ability to work effectively across diverse cultures.
