Job description

Job Purpose

The Marketing Executive will be responsible for developing effective marketing strategies and campaign plans for international trade exhibitions and conferences. Using traditional and innovative marketing techniques, the Marketing Executive will support efforts to attract visitors, delegates, exhibitors, sponsors, and press. They will also propose new ideas, develop initiatives, and apply B2B marketing experience to enhance marketing activities.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Contribute to all aspects of marketing activity, ensuring best practice techniques and clear promotional messaging.
  2. Create and distribute promotional electronic newsletters (HTML & Text); become proficient in effective email campaigns.
  3. Maintain event website, apply SEO knowledge, and suggest enhancements for user experience.
  4. Manage PPC campaigns, review results with the Digital Marketing Executive, and make recommendations.
  5. Utilise digital tools (e.g., apps, survey tools) to enhance campaigns.
  6. Manage exhibitor promotional campaigns and contribute to strategy.
  7. Lead copywriting, design, and production of delegate marketing materials and emails.
  8. Become an expert in Salesforce to identify marketing opportunities and utilize data effectively.
  9. Handle marketing administration tasks such as proofreading, delivering advertising copy, responding to inquiries, monitoring competitors, etc.
  10. Negotiate barter deals with media partners and associations.
  11. Liaise with external suppliers, including PR firms, designers, online providers, data houses, registration companies, printers, photographers, and mailing houses.
  12. Support research projects to review customer satisfaction and identify development opportunities.
  13. Provide onsite support for marketing activities, including registration, press office, branding, and sales stand.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

  • Marketing qualification is advantageous.
  • 2-3 years of marketing experience, not necessarily in event marketing.
  • Experience with databases in mass and targeted direct marketing campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Copywriting skills.
  • Proficiency in HTML.
