Job description

Job Purpose:

  • This role is responsible for the ongoing management, development, and commercialization of digitally enabled GTB - Cash & Trade products for WBG clients.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to identify product development and enhancement opportunities to meet current and emerging transaction banking requirements of WBG clients, which will assist in the bank achievement of strategic objectives. The scope of this role will require regular and close interaction with WBG and GTB sales staff, Clients, SMC, Credit, Risk, Trade Operations and Service Delivery teams along with market & competitor analysis for the development of WBG cash & trade products and digital initiatives.

Duties and responsibilities:

Product Strategy Development & Implementation

Contribute towards setting the strategic direction in the development and management of WBG Cash & Trade products through: -

  • Developing and implementing a cash & trade product and digital solutions strategy that aligns with customer feedback and overall business plan (including market analysis and reports, detailing product, market, segment and competitive parameters with market)
  • Monitoring progress against the agreed product strategy and realign and refocus efforts on Product delivery & commercialization
  • Identify gaps/weaknesses in the existing capability and develop an action plan to improve
  • Support Head of GTB to define the strategy for WBG products & services and ensuring that all components of this strategy are delivered within the agreed time period.

Product & Channel Development - Responsible for WBG products

  • Review, benchmark and improve existing NBF trade finance/cash management products and SLA’s
  • Development and commercialization of new products and services
  • Development and implementation of a marketing strategy for the full product range
  • Engagement with all stakeholders and development of new products based on client needs and market trends.
  • Submission of new products and amendments to existing products and services in line with the bank’s product committee guidelines.
  • Improve the financial performance of individual products
  • Determine the mechanism for product pricing
  • Active engagement of all stakeholders to optimize product costs and provide the best possible returns to the bank
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance of products and channels, and acting to improve the performance of the products and channels in line with the agreed strategy
  • Responsible for the production of performance management and review reports for business and product committee
  • Responsible for market leading product delivery and performance
  • Creation and monitoring of a superior customer experience
  • Develop a mechanism to monitor, manage and report the key drivers for creating superior customer experience through our product suite.
  • Establishment of customer support infrastructure

Manage WBG product risk

  • Close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders' regulators, legal counsel and risk team to ensure compliance of the corporate product portfolio with regulatory framework
  • Ensure that regular product reviews are conducted and ensure compliance with organizational policies
  • Ensure compliance with overall product management governance framework
  • Support Head GTB in creating a sustainable product management framework to monitor and manage the performance of all existing and new products
  • Responsible for cash & trade product marketing initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Vertical and Segment heads to identify opportunities and initiatives which will increase customer awareness for desired products
  • Work closely with the Strategic Marketing and Communications team to achieve organizational brand awareness goals.
  • Recognized as the subject matter expert for WBG products. Acting as a Trainer, Mentor, advisor for team members and stakeholders within the organization on product related matters.
  • Driving increased awareness of WBG products and services both internally and with target customers

Leadership skills / People Management

  • Engagement with stakeholders all over the organization to increase WBG product awareness, and build momentum around product marketing
  • Develop and foster relationships within the GTB team to achieve common objectives
  • Create a high performing team of individuals with the appropriate development and career plans to respond to a constantly changing business environment
  • Educate and build an understanding of business intelligence and marketing processes with a view to making marketing efforts more efficient and successful
  • Take on an advisory, mentoring role with other members of staff/colleagues.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (MBA Preferred), Finance, Marketing

Experience and skills:

  • 12-15 years Corporate Banking experience (at least 7 - 10 years in Product Development Roles)
  • Depth of understanding around Corporate Banking Asset & Liability products, with exposure to Treasury and Capital markets products
  • Project Management e.g. Prince 2 desirable
  • Process Re-engineering and Change Management Qualification desirable i.e. Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Marketing Qualification e.g. ICM desirable
  • Islamic Banking experience
