Job description

Our client is looking for an Officer – EHS to play a key role in will assist in implementing and maintaining environmental, health, and safety practices to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards within a greenfield pharmaceutical setup.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits across the facility to ensure adherence to EHS policies and local regulatory standards.
  • Monitor environmental parameters, such as air quality and waste management, and maintain related documentation.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with UAE-specific regulations related to occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Report and document safety incidents, near-misses, and hazards promptly.
  • Support the Executive – EHS in conducting root cause analyses for incidents and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain records of all incidents and follow up on action items to closure.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Promote safety awareness by participating in campaigns, toolbox talks, and regular briefings.
  • Ensure employees are familiar with emergency response procedures and evacuation protocols.
  • Support the implementation of risk assessment and hazard identification programs for various operations.
  • Monitor the proper usage and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) by employees.
  • Coordinate waste segregation, disposal, and recycling initiatives in line with environmental standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date EHS documentation, including risk assessments, inspection checklists, and training records.
  • Prepare and submit periodic EHS reports to the Executive – EHS for review.
  • Ensure proper documentation for regulatory audits and inspections.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within a pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar industry.
Technical Skills & Behavioral Skills:
  • Basic understanding of UAE-specific EHS regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
  • Familiarity with waste management and environmental monitoring practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for reporting and documentation.
  • Strong organizational & communication skills (English; Arabic is a plus).
  • Attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving mindset.
