Executive Director Netherlands Business Council

The Netherlands Business Council UAE (NBC) is a not-for-profit organization servicing companies and individuals with a clear business connection to the Netherlands. NBC’s objective is to promote the interests of the Dutch business community in the UAE and to foster mutual awareness, information exchange, and cultural cooperation between the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates. The NBC organizes multiple monthly networking events.

We are seeking a hands-on, flexible, reliable, and dedicated Executive Director to join its team.

The Executive Director of the Netherlands Business Council UAE (NBC) key responsibilities include planning and managing networking events, generating content for the website, and social media. The role involves building and coordinating various NBC activities, maintaining relationships with governmental institutions, local partners, and members, as well as contributing to membership growth and coordinating various NBC activities. The Executive Director also plays a key role in coordinating incoming delegations. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and networking skills, relevant experience in marketing and communication, and a hands-on approach to leadership. Proficiency in both Dutch and English, as well as graphic design experience, is preferred.

Tasks & responsibilities :

• Planning, organizing, managing, and coordinating various types of events.
• Searching and producing relevant content for the website and social media.
• Creating event invitations and newsletters.
• Actively involved in incoming trade missions from the Netherlands by organizing events and offering matchmaking services to our members;
• Creating and maintaining an influential regional network with local governmental institutions, the Dubai Chamber, the Consulate General and Embassy of the Netherlands in the UAE, and all potential partners.
• Maintain the relationship with NLinBusiness and the hub network.
• Serves as the main contact person for the Board of Directors and the corporate and associate members.
• Serves as the main contact person for the Dutch Sustainability Group.
• Growing existing membership base by business development.
• Coordinating and expanding additional NBC activities.

Requirements

Experience : Minimum of 7-10 years in management or executive role, preferably in a business council, chamber of commerce, or non-profit organisation. Provenexperience in business development, event management, and stakeholder engagement in the UAE or GCC region.

Skills :

• A flexible team player who actively contributes and takes ownership.
• Has a hands-on mentality.
• Ability to present and discuss business plans at board level and with key stakeholders.
• Strong financial and operational management capabilities.
• A networker with the ability to promote and represent the organization both within circles of government and the private sector.

• Is passionate about communicating and social media.
• Can work independently and is accurate.
• Up on the latest tools and techniques for getting the most out of online social media.
• Is an articulate writer and enjoys creating short and effective posts.
• has several years of similar work experience in the field of marketing and communication.
• Can work accurately and fluently in both Dutch and English.
• Experience in graphic design is preferred.
• Requires attendance at evening or weekend events or meetings to accommodate networking schedules.
• Flexible working in Dubai with frequent travel within the UAE and occasionally to the Netherlands.
