Daily duties are outbound calls to potential customers.
Work creatively to bring about awareness of event opportunities.
Attend events in order to build customer relationships, content knowledge and cross-sell future events.
Work with clients to plan and coordinate details of events.
Ensure successful event execution by our operations team.
Develop strong relationships with customers to drive higher sales.
Liaise directly with exhibitors, sponsors and partners before, during and after the event.
Work with manager to help with the coordination and implementation of logistics planning in the lead up to events.
Market, schedule and manage a high volume of meeting reservations, room selection, room layout changes and catering needs for use by campus and outside organizations.
Work directly with catering, vendors and event services staff to ensure all event logistics and catering options/menus are presented to the customer accurately and effectively.
Be present at events to coordinate with client, catering staff, facility operations and culinary staff.
Booking of events by phone, mail, walk-in.
Edition of contracts.
Follow up on every event from the first contact to the billing.
Close cooperation with the sales department.
Qualify and distribute all leads.
Negotiate and manage the sale of group events of various sizes and complexities via lead follow up, trade show attendance if/when appropriate, proposals, site inspections and contracts.
Generate new business and build new client relationships, develop and present proposals to clients.
Maintain existing client base through personal meetings, telephone, and email.
Achieve weekly, monthly, and yearly sales goals.
Develop and manage rotating call log to ensure consistent service to all assigned prospects.
Minimum Requirements:
Prefer two years of hotel related experience, Event management experience or successful completion of the Event Management trainee program.
Must have computer skills in Microsoft office applications.
Candidate will preferably have a degree in Hotel Management or similar field.
Previous event planning, hotel or related service required.
1-3 years sales experience (preferably within pharmaceutical field).
Understanding and aptitude for the Events Industry.
Help facilitate inter-department (sales, programming, promotions, digital) communication and serve as a liaison to client, event venue, promoter and/or 3rd party partners.
Experience with hotels & hospitality a plus.
Must be able to thrive in a quota driven environment.
Prospect (via phone and in person), close, and manage new relationships with local clients and partners.
Create and monitor project/event timelines, P&L expense management & fulfillment duties as assigned by the Director of Events.
