Job Description

Job Purpose

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales and revenue through the planning and execution of successful Incentives, Conferences, and Social Events. This includes identifying and targeting potential clients within the Sales Manager accounts portfolio, negotiating contracts, and supporting event logistics with the Event Operations Team. Building and maintaining relationships with clients and industry partners is crucial to ensure repeat business and grow the Sales Manager portfolio. The role also involves working closely with partners to build brand awareness for Wynn Al Marjan Island, managing VIP and high-profile guests, and coordinating with various departments to ensure seamless execution of promotional activities and events. Additionally, the role involves representing the resort at trade shows and sales trips, actively prospecting for new business, and creating growth opportunities for department employees.

  • Lead Sales and Negotiations: Assess and handle event and group inquiries, negotiate room rates, minimum food and beverage expenditure, and room-to-space ratios to obtain group business and meet department objectives. Identify and capitalize on revenue opportunities for all possible points of sales for the Resort and develop a culture of repeat business with clients.
  • Budget Monitoring and Sales Targets: Monitor group & event budgets ensuring that targets are met within the quarter and the full year.
  • Cultivate Client Relationships: Develop and grow new and existing relationships within the corporate, association, and incentive markets through proactive prospecting, sales calls, and client engagement activities, including site inspections and on-property client entertainment.
  • Market Representation: Represent the resort at tradeshows and industry events while upholding five-star standards. Execute strategic plans for the territory with hit lists and annual business plans to measure results.
  • Product & Client Experience: Continuously innovate and propose new ideas to internal and external parties. Understand the destination thoroughly to ensure programs and offerings from local DMCs will always feature Wynn Al Marjan Island.
  • Foster Team Approach: Promote a team-oriented work environment by offering guidance and support to team members, including coordinators, to encourage teamwork and meet department and resort standards.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events and increase sales. Generate reports on sales performance and recommend improvements.
  • Industry Networking: Attend industry events and networking opportunities to stay current on trends and build long-lasting relationships with clients.
  • Additional Duties: Assume other responsibilities as requested by the Director of Event Sales and the VP of Hotel Sales.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree required in Hotel Management, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel sales preferred.

  • Proficiency with MS Office, Delphi, and hotel operating systems.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
