Event Director – Healthcare Exhibition

Are you a visionary leader in the events industry with a passion for driving impactful, large-scale international exhibitions and conferences? My client a leading global exhibitions company is looking for an experienced Event Director to lead the strategic planning and execution of a high-profile, government-supported event within the healthcare sector.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a globally recognized platform in a vital industry, where you will shape strategy, drive revenue, lead a cross-functional team, and deliver an exceptional experience for exhibitors, delegates, and attendees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a long-term event strategy aligned with stakeholder goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and ensure alignment with government priorities.
  • Provide regular reporting on progress, risks, and commercial performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing, cross-functional team.
  • Ensure effective interdepartmental communication and collaboration.
  • Support recruitment, training, and career development within the team.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key government bodies, partners, and C-level industry leaders.
  • Establish and manage an executive steering committee to strengthen event impact and relevance.
  • Own and manage the event’s full P&L, driving revenue across exhibition, sponsorship, and delegate streams.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive sales and business development plan.
  • Support the commercial team with pipeline development and key account management.
  • Collaborate with marketing to craft compelling messaging and impactful campaigns.
  • Ensure content and positioning reflect market needs and drive audience engagement.
  • Maximize media coverage and public relations efforts pre- and post-event.
  • Ensure timely launch of agendas and seamless onsite speaker and delegate experience.
  • Work with operations to deliver a high-quality, engaging onsite environment.
  • Ensure logistical excellence, cost control, and a smooth customer journey from registration to show floor.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience in international B2B exhibition companies is a MUST
  • A track record of delivering large-scale events with commercial success and strategic impact.
  • Deep understanding of stakeholder engagement, government relations, and industry trends.
  • P&L ownership and strong commercial acumen.
