Job summary

Mtec Electromechanical Works LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a senior cost estimator to develop accurate estimates for complex projects from concept through detailed design. You will lead cost planning, supplier bidding, and change order assessments to protect profitability.

The role requires 8–10 years of experience, PMP/CCP/RICS advantageous, and strong skills in Primavera P6, CostX, Excel, and ERP systems. You will mentor a team and ensure compliance with contracts and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying.
• PMP, CCP, or RICS certifications are advantageous.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in cost estimation and control in construction/engineering.
• Proven track record of managing cost control for large-scale projects (infrastructure, industrial, oil & gas).
• Proficient in Primavera P6, CostX, Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strategic thinker capable of foreseeing cost overruns and implementing proactive measures.

• Implement robust cost control systems to monitor project expenditures against budget identifying variances and proposing corrective actions
• Manage the procurement process for subcontractors and suppliers ensuring competitive bidding and favorable contract terms
• Oversee the preparation and validation of change order proposals assessing their cost impact and negotiating fair resolutions
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of historical cost data for future estimating accuracy and benchmarking
• Conduct detailed risk assessments related to cost and schedule developing mitigation strategies to protect project profitability
• Prepare regular insightful cost reports for senior management highlighting key performance indicators risks and opportunities
• Collaborate closely with project management engineering and construction teams to ensure alignment between estimates budgets and actual costs
• Lead and mentor a team of estimators and cost engineers fostering professional development and high performance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CCP (Certified Cost Professional), or RICS are highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in cost estimation and control within the construction or engineering industry.
