Job description

The Client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ESG specialist to lead in developing, coordinating, and overseeing ESG strategies across the Client Group—including the holding company and its portfolio assets. The role involves driving ESG integration into corporate and investment processes, enhancing ESG performance, managing external reporting, and ensuring alignment with global best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Technical Oversight

Support the implementation and refinement of the Client’s ESG strategy and roadmap.

Evaluate existing ESG policies and recommend enhancements.

Review ESG-related market trends, frameworks, and rating methodologies to align with global best practices.

Analyze ESG rating and risk reports; recommend improvement and mitigation strategies.

Conduct reviews of technical environmental data (carbon, water, energy, waste, etc.).

Draft scopes and review ESG due diligence reports for new and existing investments.

Assess ESG-related risks and opportunities across the portfolio.

Draft and review the Client’s ESG and annual sustainability reports; ensure high-quality, transparent, and compliant disclosures.

Recommend suitable ESG reporting frameworks and trade body memberships.

Performance Management

Set, track, and report ESG KPIs across portfolio assets.

Establish ESG data collection systems to support performance scoring and trend analysis.

Monitor performance against ESG targets and advise on improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as the central point of coordination across internal teams (Investment, Legal, Strategy, Finance, Internal Audit, Communications) and external stakeholders (consultants, data providers, regulators).

Provide regular ESG updates to senior leadership.

Lead ESG training initiatives to embed a culture of sustainability across the Client Group.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related discipline.

ESG certifications (e.g., SASB, GRI, CFA ESG, PRI Academy) are advantageous.

In-depth knowledge of ESG frameworks (GRI, TCFD, SASB, UNPRI, etc.)

Familiarity with ESG regulatory landscape and upcoming compliance trends.

Understanding of ESG integration into investment processes.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

High analytical capability with attention to detail.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Experience

Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior ESG-related role.

Prior experience in financial services or investment sectors preferred.
