Job description

The safe and effective delivery of a portfolio of Brownfield Safety Critical Projects on multiple offshore platforms; including large production complexes (multiple platforms bridge linked) and remote Wellhead Towers, located offshore within the UAE under an EPCM contracting model.

Effective overall delivery of execution delivery on an assigned asset, which could be a production Complex or a number of Wellhead Towers. This encompasses both Construction and Commissioning activities as well as the movement of accommodation barges, utilisation of workboats, and receipt of materials etc.

Provide certainty and confidence to the Client and Wood Project Sponsor, that the contract is being delivered safely with a strong focus on optimization, cost control, risk management, schedule adherence and stakeholder management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, review, and report accurate project schedules and plans to support robust project control throughout their lifecycle.
  • Responsible for developing project schedules and plans, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy per contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards. The Planner shall be responsible for identifying areas of best practice and driving continuous improvement within the Planning team.
  • Supports the planning team's management and development, project schedules and plans, and preparing and filing project planning documentation.
  • They may act as the focal point for several project scopes. As defined by the requirements of the project organisation, they may deliver the role as a standalone position or as part of a team.
  • Acts as Planning focal point for specific project scopes.
  • Review and maintain planning control structures that are developed and maintained in alignment with the approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Review and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software.
  • Monitor and control planning activities through all project lifecycle phases.
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements.
  • Provide copies of project plans and schedules per project reporting requirements.
  • Provide copies of project progress and performance status reports per project reporting requirements.
  • Review and issue updates to project plans and schedules.
  • Review and issue updates to project manpower requirements.
  • Monitor and assess the schedule impact of change notifications.
  • Monitor and review the overall project progress status, including the achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance.
  • Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required.
  • Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests is adequately assessed and included in the schedules.
  • Participate in schedule risk analysis as required.
  • Participate and lead Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
  • At least 10 years of relevant scheduling / planning experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques, including Logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levelling.
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Scheduling.
  • Advanced understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilities.
  • Advanced ability to develop project schedules and plans.
  • Advanced ability to prepare resource loading, progress and staffing plans.
  • Excellent understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses / trending and what-if scenarios.
  • Advanced understanding of project management principles and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning, and Risk Analysis & Management.
  • Prior experience in a Senior planning role.
  • Previous experience in Lump-Sum projects is preferred but not essential.
