Job description

Lead Engineer - Vibration, Dynamics, and Noise Engineering

Join Wood's Asset Life Optimisation (ALO) group as a Lead Engineer, providing vibration, dynamics, and noise engineering consultancy services to internal units and external clients. The role is primarily based in our offices, with potential on-site support both onshore and offshore.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ISCED Level 6 Bachelors (minimum) or Level 7 Masters (preferred) in engineering, or equivalent through tertiary education and industry experience.
  • Chartership or professional engineer status preferred.
  • Proven CPD record demonstrating technical and consulting development.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the on- and offshore oil and gas industry.
  • Senior technical expertise in piping vibration and project management.
  • Knowledge of Energy Institute Guidelines and experience with simulation packages (e.g., ANSYS, Caesar, SolidWorks).
  • Ability to perform vibration, pressure, and noise measurements at various sites.
  • Understanding of excitation sources and vibration measurement equipment.
  • Design skills for anti-vibration supports and fabrication documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead vibration engineering scopes and consultancy services.
  2. Deliver engineering solutions with minimal guidance, serve as discipline lead on projects.
  3. Manage complex projects and data collection for vibration studies.
  4. Conduct assessments such as AIV stages, fatigue of welded components, and troubleshooting.
  5. Define and approve technical scopes, improve project processes, and innovate solutions.
  6. Oversee execution of vibration tasks, ensure project delivery, and manage stakeholders.
  7. Lead technical workshops, represent the company in client engagements, and mitigate risks.
  8. Support business growth through client engagement and bid contributions.
