Job summary

Energy Vault is seeking an Environmental Manager to oversee project delivery and ensure technical quality while mentoring team members. The role includes health and safety oversight, business development, and financial tracking. The ideal candidate will possess a BSc and MSc in a relevant field, along with significant experience in managing complex environmental projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8-10 years experience in managing large complex environmental projects.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (i.e. IEMA or equivalent) and preferably chartered status.
  • Experience in providing technical solutions and clarifications to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of Health & Safety and wellbeing of staff within the discipline.
  • Support business development and liaise with new and potential clients.
  • Track and review commercial performance of the discipline to meet KPI's.
  • Ensure the discipline works in conjunction with others while supporting a 'One National Team' approach.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, mentoring and supporting team members.

Our Earth & Environment team, require a team player with the leadership, technical and commercial skills, knowledge and experience to take overall responsibility of the discipline including oversight of capture and delivery of projects, ensuring technical quality and adherence to budget and programme, to manage and mentor staff.



Responsibilities

The Environmental Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Health & Safety – Oversight of Health & Safety and wellbeing of staff within your discipline.
  • Business development – You will be responsible for supporting the other sector leads and pushing forward business development within your discipline. Your role will include liaison with new and potential clients; both internal and external to WSP.
  • Commercial – Tracking and reviewing the commercial performance for your discipline to ensure that KPI’s are met. Reporting up to the Environment Advisory and the P&L Director in detail.
  • Operations – You will be responsible for ensuring that your discipline works in conjunction with other disciplines supporting a ‘One National Team’ approach. This includes:
    • Oversight of weekly resourcing.
    • Supporting the integration of teams with other disciplines
    • Weekly communications including acting as the main point of flow of communications from higher management.
    • Ensuring that company messaging has been received by the team.(as required)
    • Technical support on projects within your area of expertise. This includes authorisations of deliverables.
  • People Management – Regular team meetings with all members of your discipline, mentoring and supporting team members to help progress their careers.


Qualifications
  • BSc and MSc degree level qualified in a relevant environmental or engineering discipline.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (i.e. IEMA or equivalent) and preferably chartered status.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in managing large complex environmental projects across a number of disciplines.
  • Experience of working in an international consultancy.
  • Experience in undertaking air dispersion or noise modeling could be advantageous.
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines and a flexible mindset to working.
  • Experience in providing technical alternatives and solutions to technical clarifications and design solutions to clients.
  • Significant proofing, editing, and report collation experience.
  • Excellent written English and verbal communication, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Experience in working on multiple projects, simultaneously.
  • Robust project management, time management and financial management skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and outcome-driven working method.
