The Arts Club Dubai is perfectly located in the heart of the DIFC, set over four floors and totaling 65,000 square feet, in the brand-new ICD Brookfield Place development designed by Foster + Partners.

The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the efficient and cost-effective operation of the Engineering Department by supervising daily maintenance activities, coordinating repairs, and ensuring timely support to all operational departments. The role involves overseeing the proper functioning of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, maintaining equipment and facilities in optimal condition, and ensuring a safe, well-maintained environment throughout The Club.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Your main duties and responsibilities are :

  • Oversee routine and preventive maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
  • Ensure kitchen and food preparation equipment (e.g., ovens, refrigerators, mixers) are functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns or malfunctions promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Supervise contractors or in-house staff during repair and installation projects.
  • Lead, schedule, and coordinate the activities of maintenance and engineering staff.
  • Train team members on equipment use, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices.
  • Ensure all operations comply with local health, safety, and building codes.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance schedules, and safety procedures.
  • Oversee safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols in engineering and maintenance areas.
  • Manage inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
  • Recommend and assist in procurement of necessary tools and equipment.
  • Recommend upgrades or replacements of outdated or inefficient equipment.
  • Work with F&B operations to ensure equipment and facility design meet workflow and regulatory needs.
  • Monitor energy and utility usage; recommend and implement energy-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure prompt action is taken during power outages, equipment failures, or other facility emergencies.
  • Liaise with Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure seamless support and minimal downtime.
  • Attend interdepartmental meetings to align engineering support with operational needs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills :

  • Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on experience in engineering or maintenance roles preferably in hospitality or F&B sectors.
  • Previous experience working in hotels, resorts, commercial kitchens, or food & beverage production environments.
  • Familiarity with food service equipment (e.g., refrigeration systems, ovens, dishwashers, grease traps).
  • Experience managing maintenance schedules, repair projects, or facility upgrades.
  • Exposure to construction, renovation, or capital improvement projects is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with safety inspections, audits, and compliance with health, fire, and environmental codes.
  • Familiarity with HACCP and hotel industry quality assurance standards.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical systems, and building automation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment schematics.
  • Proficiency in maintenance software (CMMS) and basic computer applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Team leadership and staff supervision.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Quick decision-making under pressure, especially during emergencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and other departments.
  • Clear and concise reporting to senior management or engineering managers.
  • In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
  • Experience implementing preventive maintenance programs and safety procedures.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT)
  • Food safety or HACCP training (especially in F&B-heavy properties)
  • OSHA safety certification
  • HVAC Certification or Electrical License
