Job summary

Miebach Consulting GmbH is seeking an Engineering Senior Consultant for our GCC practice in Dubai. You will lead engineering assignments, solve logistics challenges and turn concepts into implementable solutions across storage, MHE and automation.

The role requires strong client leadership, collaboration with peers and a willingness to travel across the GCC, including extended stays on-site at customer locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level technical degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Production Engineering is required.

Engineering Senior Consultant – Miebach GCC

As an Engineering Consultant, you will work with our customers to understand their logistics challenges, develop the right solution and help turn it into reality.

You will lead projects and customer discussions, work with colleagues and suppliers to solve problems, and make practical decisions even when the information available is incomplete. Beyond project delivery, we expect you to understand Miebach's wider capabilities, build strong customer relationships and actively look for opportunities to grow our business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the customer: Build trusted relationships, understand what the customer values, lead critical discussions and confidently recommend, explain and defend Miebach's position
• Lead the project: Own Engineering assignments end-to-end. Anticipate what is needed, set direction and priorities, keep the team focused and ensure commitments on quality, timing and outcomes are met
• Exercise judgement: Work confidently with ambiguity, make sensible assumptions and adapt the depth, focus and approach to what the customer and project actually require.
• Develop the right solution: Understand customer operations and material flows – often from limited or unclear inputs – and develop the most suitable logistics solution, balancing operational, technical, commercial and implementation considerations
• Engineer for implementation: Turn logistics concepts into solutions that can be procured and implemented, covering storage systems, MHE and automation, technical specifications, supplier evaluation, CAPEX, technical reviews and implementation support
• Operate as a Miebach consultant: Understand Miebach's broader capabilities and ways of working. Look beyond the immediate Engineering task, see the bigger picture and connect customer needs to the wider value Miebach can bring
• Lead through collaboration: Bring together the right Miebach expertise, work effectively with peers, ask for support early when needed and mentor younger colleagues while maintaining accountability across the team
• Solve, do not explain: Take ownership when challenges arise. Find practical ways forward and escalation with perspective and proposed solutions, rather than reasons why something cannot be done
• Build Miebach's business: Proactively identify customer needs and new opportunities, develop relationships and networks, represent Miebach's wider capabilities and actively help shape and convert opportunities into projects.

What We Are Looking For

You are anengineer who enjoys solving logistics problems, not just engineering them. You are comfortable getting into the detail, but equally comfortable stepping back, understanding the bigger picture and making a recommendation.

You will ideally bring:

• 4–8 years of relevant experience, backed by a degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Production Engineering
• A strong understanding of warehouse operations and material flows, and the ability to turn operational needs into practical logistics concepts
• Hands‑on knowledge of storage systems, MHE and automation – enough to size, select, compare and confidently recommend solutions
• Experience taking solutions beyond concept: developing specifications, working with suppliers, evaluating proposals, estimating CAPEX, reviewing technical submittals and supporting implementation
• The confidence to work directly with customers, ask the right questions, challenge when needed and explain technical decisions in clear business language
• The ability to lead projects and people, while knowing when to involve colleagues and draw on expertise around you
  Curiosity beyond your own discipline – an interest in understanding the customer's wider business and developing your knowledge across Miebach's capabilities
• A natural interest in customers and business development – building relationships, spotting opportunities and helping turn them into business
• Currently based in the UAE, with the flexibility to travel frequently across the GCC, including extended periods at customer and implementation sites

Experience in logistics consulting is a very strong plus and would be ideal, but we are equally interested in strong candidates from system integrators, storage/MHE suppliers, 3PLs, warehouse operations or industrial engineering. GCC experience is preferred.

You should be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, have working knowledge of AutoCAD, and communicate confidently in professional English. Arabic is an advantage.

The role requires frequent travel across the GCC, including extended periods away from your home location, with hands‑on presence at customer and implementation sites.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 3 months

• Understand how Miebach works, our broader capabilities and how Engineering fits within our consulting offering
• Integrate well with the GCC team and actively build relationships across Miebach
• Contribute effectively to Engineering projects and customer discussions
• Show curiosity, initiative and the ability to work through incomplete information without waiting for detailed direction

Within 6 months

• Take significant ownership of Engineering projects and workstreams, including customer interaction, team coordination, quality and timelines
• Independently develop and recommend practical, technically and commercially sound solutions
• Build credibility with customers and competently lead project discussions
• Anticipate project requirements and risks, keeping management informed without relying on management to drive the project
• Actively identify customer needs and opportunities for Miebach beyond the immediate project scope

Within 12 months

• Independently lead Engineering assignments, involving management where their participation genuinely adds value
• Be recognised by customers as a trusted consultant and advisor, not simply as an Engineering resource
• Lead and develop younger colleagues while creating accountability for quality, timing and delivery
• Confidently represent Miebach's wider capabilities, not only Engineering
• Proactively develop customer relationships, create new business opportunities and help convert them into engagements
• Be a dependable member of the GCC consulting team who can be trusted with customers, projects, colleagues and business opportunities
