Emirates Engineering Training, part of The Emirates Group, is seeking an Engineering Practical Trainer / Assessor in Dubai. The role focuses on organizing and delivering AMEL-based practical training assessments and on‑the‑job training for EK fleet maintenance programs.

The ideal candidate holds UAE-GCAA CAR 66 AMEL CAT B1/B1+B2 licenses with multiple type endorsements and will ensure all training records and logbooks are accurate, up to date, and compliant with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree or honours (12+3 or equivalent).
  • 8 years of experience as an approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
  • Hold a valid UAE-GCAA CAR 66 AMEL CAT B1 or B1+B2 License with endorsements of at least two aircraft types (B777, A350, A380).
  • Authorization issued by a CAR 145 organization compliance Monitoring / Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities

Situated within the state-of-the-art Emirates Engineering Maintenance Centre our college offers comprehensive training in basic and aircraft-type maintenance. Our advanced facilities and hands‑on workshops led by expert instructors provide a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Our Basic AME License Training is approved by UAE GCAA and EASA. We offer training and exams to UAE Nationals and external candidates. As a GCAA‑CAR 147 MTO we also provide Practical Maintenance Experience (PME) to meet CAR 66 requirements. We are dedicated to nurturing your skills and confidence preparing you to excel in the dynamic world of aviation.

The Engineering Practical Trainer / Assessor will organize and deliver Maintenance Practical Training Assessments covering the safe handling of the Aircraft and its equipment, Maintenance Actions, Procedure Knowledge, Performance and Behavioural Assessment for the trainees undergoing the National Engineering Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence (AMEL) Programme as well as prepare and conduct supervise assess Structured Practical Training On‑Job Training for Type Training on all EK Fleet in the Aircraft Maintenance Environments. In this role you will organize aircraft for Structured Practical Training as required from Aircraft Scheduling Department, Line Maintenance and Base Maintenance section, raise all required documents (NRI), Logbook entries for the task accomplished during practical training according to Engineering Procedure manual and highlight relevant shift managers any outstanding open entries, organize work allocation by liaising with the hangar Shift Managers to accomplish Structured Practical Training tasks as designated in respective practical training logbooks, ensure items in the Structured Practical Training for a particular aircraft type OJT and AMEL Logbook are fully completed by the applicant and are in compliance with the Maintenance Training Organisation Exposition prior final approval and issuance of the relevant Certificate of Recognition by Examinations Manager, monitor closely the performance of trainees by performing assessments on a regular basis scrutinizing and signing their Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Logbook in order to correct them and apprise Manager Engineering Training and Engineering Trainees Manager regarding their performance highlighting areas of strengths and weaknesses to improve it.

Keep updated with all the technical publications issued by the company to ensure current knowledge of all the technical processes and procedures, be able to impart such knowledge to trainees Basic, Type and be fully conversant with the publications. Ensure that all activities performed by the trainees Basic, Type are closely monitored to ensure the best possible application of safety rules and regulations are applied ensuring full understanding and adherence to Company procedures. Participate in and promote creating a safety culture in an effort to minimize accidents and highlight deficiencies/failures that can lead to such accidents. Also ensure that the trainee is fully conversant with airport safety regulations and airport manoeuvring area requirements and be able to fully comply. Carry out assessment on regular intervals on all trainees Basic, Type undergoing OJT practical training in the hangars to determine they have a sound knowledge on all EK aircraft fleet on both theoretical and practical elements. Carry out routine aircraft maintenance servicing tasks compliant to manufacturers and local safety procedures. Ensure zones aircraft to which assigned are maintained in accordance with the documentation issued by approved authorities ensuring compliance is maintained to the latest revisions and all Technical Publications, Aircraft documentation, Technical Notices, Quality Notices, Engineering Procedures Manual, etc.

Review and update the Structured Practical Training OJT AMEL Logbook and documents so that it remains compliant, effective and appropriate for both AMEL and Type Courses as and when assigned by the Engineering Examination Training Manager. Participate with Compliance Monitoring section to the Final Technical Assessment in granting of approval for 145 applicants and conduct Final Assessment on all logbooks going to GCAA from EK Engineering for licensing purposes.

Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent). 8 Years of experience as an approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Hold a valid UAE-GCAA CAR 66 AMEL CAT B1 or B1+B2 License with endorsements of at least two aircraft types (B777, A350, A380). Authorization issued by a CAR 145 organization compliance Monitoring / Quality Assurance. Conversant with the Basic Training CAR66 AMEL Programme and Aircraft Type Training being taught. Familiar with the UAE-GCAA CAR 66/147 and EASA Part 66/147 requirements. Able to determine that the trainee has sufficient competence to perform the maintenance activities on the live aircraft. Able to mark and analyse students responses and provide feedback to the Training Management detailing any inconsistencies with the OJT/ Practical Training Assessment process. Excellent report writing and analytical thinking skills.
