Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager for an offshore subsea project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The role leads multidisciplinary teams across FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Start-up, ensuring safety, schedule and budget adherence in line with ADNOC Offshore requirements. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead all engineering disciplines and develop execution plans aligned with project objectives.
  • Review designs, calculations, specifications, and reports to ensure compliance with ADNOC Offshore standards and codes.
  • Coordinate interfaces between EPC contractor, ADNOC Offshore, PMC, vendors and subcontractors; monitor progress.
  • Manage engineering change control, risk assessments, and design clarifications with stakeholders.
  • Drive value engineering and optimization to improve project outcomes; ensure constructability of designs.
  • Mentor and develop engineers; allocate resources to meet project priorities.

Job Title: Engineering Manager

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Client or Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi.

Job Purpose

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing all engineering activities for ADNOC Offshore projects, ensuring that engineering deliverables are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with ADNOC specifications, international standards, and project requirements. The role oversees multidisciplinary engineering teams and provides technical leadership throughout FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Start-up phases.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Management
  • Lead and manage all engineering disciplines including Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecom, and HSE.
  • Develop and implement engineering execution plans aligned with project objectives.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed according to project schedules and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering interfaces between EPC contractor, ADNOC Offshore, PMC, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor engineering progress and implement corrective actions when required.
Technical Leadership
  • Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, specifications, datasheets, and technical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC Offshore standards, UAE regulations, international codes, and industry best practices.
  • Resolve major technical issues and provide engineering solutions to support project execution.
  • Drive value engineering and optimization initiatives.
Project Coordination
  • Work closely with Project Management, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning teams.
  • Participate in project reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Design Reviews, and Constructability Reviews.
  • Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
  • Ensure design deliverables support efficient construction and commissioning activities.
Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary engineering focal point for ADNOC Offshore and Project Management Consultant (PMC).
  • Conduct engineering progress meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Manage technical communications, engineering change requests, and design clarifications.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with ADNOC Codes of Practice, international standards (API, ASME, IEC, ISO, NFPA, etc.), and project specifications.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Monitor engineering KPIs and ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented.
Risk Management
  • Identify engineering risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Manage technical deviations, concessions, and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Support project risk assessments and ensure engineering risks are adequately addressed.
Team Leadership
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and engineering coordinators.
  • Mentor and develop engineers to enhance technical competency and project performance.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project priorities.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or related discipline).
  • Master's Degree is an advantage.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 15–20 years of engineering experience in Oil & Gas, with at least 8–10 years in Engineering Management roles.
  • Extensive ADNOC Offshore, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or major international offshore project experience.
  • Proven experience in EPC/EPCM execution of offshore platforms, subsea facilities, pipelines, and brownfield projects.
  • Experience managing large multidisciplinary engineering teams.
