Job Description
  1. Leadership & Team Development

Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team including design engineers, structural engineers, CAD drafters, site/project engineers, Document controllers etc.

  • Drive a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and innovation within the engineering and execution teams.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement structured training programs for team development.
  • Report regularly to senior management with updates on performance, efficiency, and improvement opportunities.
  • Foster effective collaboration between engineering, operations, and business functions.
  1. Engineering & Design Management
  • Oversee the full-cycle design process for commercial, industrial, and residential solar PV systems (Rooftop, Carport and ground-mounted).
  • Manage technical feasibility studies, conceptual design, detailed engineering, and design validation as per site conditions, prepare detailed BOM and BOQ for construction.
  • Lead solar resource modeling using PVsyst and related tools to generate accurate energy yield assessments.
  • Review electrical, structural, and civil designs to ensure code compliance, bankability, and optimization.
  • Coordinate with OEMs (modules, inverters, racking) for solution customization and technology evaluation.
  • Maintain quality standards and deliverables in line with DEWA and other authority requirements.
  • Conduct equipment evaluation including technical spec. comparisons, warranty reviews, and compatibility analysis.
  • Prepare in detail IFC drawings for construction team.
  • Coordinate and prepare reline drawings to validate as-built drawings against modeling assumptions and prepare milestone completion certificates.
  • Review operational data from live projects to assess performance against projections and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead the development of technical proposals and bid documentation.
  1. Projects & Construction Management

Manage client interactions, ensuring clear communication and alignment on technical deliverables.

  • Support PM for cross-functional coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams.
  1. Business Development & Strategic Initiatives

Collaborate with sales and business development teams in preparing proposals, technical pitches, and feasibility reports.

  • Represent the engineering function at industry events, client meetings, and technical forums.
  • Contribute to strategic growth by streamlining engineering workflows, introducing automation tools, and improving design-to-execution handovers.
  • Support marketing efforts by contributing to case studies, presentations, and thought leadership material.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders to position the company as a technical leader in the solar space.
Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Certified as a Senior Solar PV Expert by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or related Engineering discipline; Master’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience in a senior technical role such as Design Manager, or equivalent within the solar PV industry.
  • Strong proficiency in solar design and simulation tools, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, PVsyst, Helioscope, SolarEdge Designer, and HOMER.
  • In-depth knowledge of DEWA and other local authority regulations, as well as industry best practices for EPC execution and O&M in solar PV systems.
  • Skilled in project planning and management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or other equivalent CRM platforms.
  • Demonstrated strength in leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.
