Client we are Hiring for:

Our client is a high-growth, venture-backed fintech platform based in the GCC, backed by

globally recognized investors. The company is on a mission to revolutionize consumer finance

across the region by enabling users to spend better, save smarter, and invest effortlessly.

Having recently secured full regulatory approvals in core markets, they are scaling rapidly with

a diverse product suite. The company operates at the intersection of finance and cutting-edge

technology, and is seeking an exceptional Engineering Lead for its technology function.

Role Overview

As the Engineering Lead, you will own architecture, systems design, data strategy, and security

across a wide surface area including open banking, card processing, investments, insurance,

and embedded finance.

You will work closely with the founding team and lead a distributed engineering team that is

solving some of the most complex challenges in consumer finance.Ideal for a candidate who

thrives in zero-to-one environments and has previously built secure, scalable systems in

regulated fintech environments.

Key Responsibilities

Technology & Architecture

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture, infrastructure, and platform scalability
• Guide technical decisions across savings, wealth, insurance, cards, and fraud/risk systems
• Drive robust, modular, and secure systems to support regulatory requirements (DFSA, SAMA, etc.)

Preferred Certifications:

AWS/ Google Certified Solutions Architect

TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)Engineering Leadership

• Lead and scale a distributed team of engineers (currently 10), instilling a culture of quality, velocity, and ownership
• Mentor engineering leads and ensure hiring, performance management, and team design align with growth

Strategic Product Partnership

• Work closely with Product, Data, and Compliance to ship user-centric, scalable fintech products.
• Ensure tech strategy aligns with company goals - e.g., launching investments,

embedded insurance, and open banking-based automation.

Infrastructure, DevOps & Security

• Oversee DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), ensuring uptime,

scalability, and cost efficiency.

• Lead secure-by-design practices, periodic audits, and regulatory tech readiness.

Technical Support

• Establish and maintain Tier 13 support protocols for internal and customer-facing

issues across mobile apps, APIs, and backend systems

• Build and scale a support engineering function to handle technical escalations, incident

• Implement observability tooling to track application health, user behavior, and

performance bottlenecks

• Ensure high system reliability and business continuity through proactive monitoring and

auto-healing mechanisms

• Collaborate with Customer Support, Compliance, and Business teams to provide timely

technical resolutions for user-reported issues

Incident and problem management

• Evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with external vendors providing critical
• infrastructure, tools, or services (e.g., cloud, KYC, card issuance, fraud detection, open banking aggregators)
• Lead due diligence, contract negotiations, and technical onboarding of vendors,
• ensuring alignment with product goals and regulatory requirements
• Define and enforce vendor SLAs, data protection agreements, and escalation processes.
• Drive performance reviews & cost optimization exercises with strategic tech partners.
• Maintain a centralized repository of contracts, integrations, service catalogs, an contact matrices

Preferred Certifications:

Familiarity with procurement processes and compliance reviews

Experience and qualifications:

• Have 812+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role
• Built or scaled tech in regulated fintechs-especially across payments, savings, lending,

insurance, or investments

• Understand OWASP concepts and are deeply hands-on with an agile way of working

across system design, architecture, development, security, and cloud infrastructure.

• Have experience leading lean, high-performance, remote engineering teams across
• Are fluent in tradeoffs between speed, security, scale, and compliance.
• Thrive in zero-to-one and one-to-ten phases, and have worked closely with founders

and investors

• Bonus: Experience with open banking APIs, PCI-DSS/ SOC2, UAE/KSA regulatory
