Job summary

Novotel & ibis Balikpapan in Ras al-Khaimah is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to maintain and repair electrical, mechanical and ELV systems across the hotel.

You will lead daily engineering operations, oversee life-safety and BMS/GRMS systems, and ensure full compliance with hotel standards and regulations. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to coordinate with external contractors.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel.
• Strong hands-on experience with ELV and life safety systems.
• Knowledge of BMS GRMS Fire Alarm & Fire Fighting systems.
• Good leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and engineering systems.

Responsibilities

Job description

Main Scope

Responsible for the maintenance operation and repair of all electrical mechanical and ELV systems within the hotel. Ensures optimal performance of life safety systems BMS/GRMS and full compliance with hotel standards and authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Operations

• Supervise daily engineering shift operations
• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs
• Maintain logs reports inventories and technical documentation
• Inspect completed works for safety and compliance
• Estimate materials manpower and project requirements
• Ensure adherence to emergency procedures and safety protocols

ELV & Life Safety Systems

• Oversee Fire Alarm Fire Fighting CBS UPS BMS and GRMS systems
• Conduct regular inspections fire pump testing and system checks
• Monitor systems and take immediate corrective action when needed
• Maintain accurate ELV documentation and compliance records
• Coordinate with approved contractors/service providers
• Support fire drills and emergency preparedness activities

Compliance & Leadership

• Ensure compliance with ISO standards hotel policies and safety regulations
• Participate in risk management and sustainability initiatives
• Supervise and guide engineering team members
• Promote teamwork accountability and operational excellence
