Perform various duties to ensure the orderly and timely completion of work orders received from internal guests, Duty Supervisor, Engineering Manager, Assistant Engineering Director, and Director of Engineering. Perform work related to maintaining preventive maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Be responsible for GMK2 master keys when on duty.
- Use communication devices at all times while on duty.
- Check with the duty engineering supervisor for priority jobs.
- Check the logbook for follow-up jobs.
- Assign maintenance requests in the communication device.
- If maintenance will take longer, immediately communicate with the Duty Engineering Supervisor.
- Ensure to close maintenance requests in the communication device after completing the job.
- Carry required tools.
- Follow all departmental procedures and instructions.
- Respond promptly to Knowcross service orders for problems, assistance, or emergency work orders.
- Follow hotel policies and procedures when entering guest rooms for repairs.
- Read and log entries as per duty roster.
- Follow tag and lockout procedures when working on electrically powered equipment.
- Maintain safety procedures and conditions in the working area and other related areas.
- Understand and practice hotel emergency fire procedures.
- Ensure all spare parts and materials are in order and received properly.
- Keep the premises clean and tidy after completing work.
- Follow the PPM program for kitchen equipment and assigned areas.
- Communicate daily work progress to the duty engineering supervisor before ending the shift.
- Log out in the logbook before leaving the hotel.
- Work as a team to achieve engineering goals.
- Check with co-workers before shift end to see if they need assistance.
- Inform the duty engineering supervisor of daily work progress.
- Use proper telephone etiquette when answering calls.
- Learn, understand, and embody the Rosewood Philosophy and Standards.
- Set high standards of quality, demonstrate commitment to service, monitor procedures, and suggest improvements based on feedback.
- Perform routine maintenance on kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, dishwashers, etc., to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of replacement parts.
- Provide training and support to kitchen staff on equipment use and maintenance.
- Offer guidance on best practices for equipment care to maximize efficiency and prevent damage.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and inspections.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment complies with safety standards and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Experience: Minimum one year as an engineer in a 5-star hotel.
- Education: High school diploma; professional trade certification preferred.
- General Skills: Attention to detail, speed, organization, problem-solving, teamwork, confidentiality, and ability to work independently.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one specific trade relevant to the role.
Language: Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Physical Requirements: Ability to exert physical effort, move throughout work areas, and communicate effectively.
