Job summary

Melia Hotels International S.A.(Meliá) invites a Director of Engineering for Gran Meliá Jumeirah Pre-Opening in Dubai. You will lead engineering, maintenance, and technical operations from pre-opening through launch and beyond, shaping the hotel's technical foundation.

You will oversee compliance, energy efficiency, budget management, and a premium guest experience, building a high-caliber team that embodies luxury service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Chief Engineer or similar senior role in luxury/upscale hotels.
• Experience with pre-openings and large projects; GCC experience preferred.
• Engineering degree or technical qualification; Fluent in English (Arabic advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering, maintenance, and technical operations during pre-opening and hotel operations.
• Ensure compliance with local technical, safety, and legal regulations; manage Fire and Safety program and trainings.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans to protect asset quality and uptime.
• Monitor and optimize energy efficiency and sustainability performance.
• Manage technical budgets, maintenance costs, and CAPEX budget with ownership and departments.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors and service providers.
• Ensure technical readiness of guest areas and back-of-house spaces.
• Lead, train, and develop a skilled engineering team aligned with luxury service standards.
