Qualifications

Job Purpose
At Emirates Engineering Training, we are committed to inspiring and equipping aviation professionals with the highest level of expertise. Situated within the state-of-the-art Emirates Engineering Maintenance Centre, our college offers comprehensive training in basic and aircraft-type maintenance.

Our advanced facilities and hands-on workshops, led by expert instructors, provide a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Our Basic AME License Training is approved by UAE GCAA and EASA. We offer training and exams to Emiratizations and external candidates. As a GCAA-CAR 147 MTO, we also provide Practical Maintenance Experience (PME) to meet CAR 66 requirements. We are dedicated to nurturing your skills and confidence, preparing you to excel in the dynamic world of aviation.

As an Engineering Basic Instructor, you will organise and conduct UAE GCAA Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) 66 Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (AMEL) program and Ab-Initio training courses. You will conduct all module and sub-module examinations as per CAR 66 Basic AMEL and any examination conducted by CAR 147 organisation. You will organise and conduct practical elements of the Basic training in the Engineering Training workshop.

In This Role You Will
  • Conduct GCAA/EASA approved ab initio classroom instruction for Trainees to enable them to acquire an accredited Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence.
  • Establish and conduct programmes for Trainees. Coordinate with the Engineering Basic Training Manager (EBTM) to ensure the availability of instructional resources.
  • Conduct practical training sessions in Basic technical skill workshops covering fitting, sheet metal work, welding (soldering), composite repair, machining, Engine shop, Airframe systems shop, and Skill shop.
  • Ensure discipline, monitor welfare and progress of individual trainees/apprentice mechanics, and counsel them as needed to achieve training objectives. Recommend disciplinary actions if necessary to the Engineering Trainees Manager.
  • Comply with GCAA and EASA safety standards and regulations during practical training.
  • Analyze post-course evaluations to determine training effectiveness and suggest improvements during meetings with the EBTM.
  • Coordinate with EK Engineering departments such as Overhaul workshops, Line, and Base Maintenance during trainees' postings.
  • Coordinate with the Examination Training Manager and Examination Unit as an Invigilator/Examiner and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for developing and reviewing examination questions and papers.
Qualifications

To be considered for the role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
  • Engineering experience of 8+ years; minimum 5 years within Aviation Engineering, with at least 2 years conducting CAR 66/Ab-Initio courses
  • Hold a CAR 66 or ICAO equivalent Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License and relevant Module training

OR

  • Engineering Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or BTEC, with relevant Module training

OR

  • Acceptable previous experience related to basic training modules

AND

  • Involvement with teaching modules 1 & 2, or an academic qualification relevant to the modules

AND

  • Completed an Instructional Techniques, Train the Trainer, or equivalent course from an approved institute

Additional skills include:

  • Extensive aircraft engineering maintenance knowledge
  • Familiarity with GCAA/EASA regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office & Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of modern training methodologies and platforms like MS Teams
  • Strong instructional, report writing, and analytical skills
