Overview

Engineers at AECOM are responsible for managing quality assurance and control processes across structural and road infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with RTA standards and international engineering practices.

Role Summary

The Engineer – Structural QA QC is responsible for establishing and enforcing quality systems across structural and road construction works, ensuring all activities meet contractual requirements, technical standards, and safety regulations, while supporting efficient project execution and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement QA and QC procedures, inspection plans, and checklists for structural and road works
• Supervise and evaluate inspectors to ensure inspections meet approved quality standards
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for infrastructure projects
• Inspect structural elements including foundations, piles, abutments, piers, pavements, and concrete barriers
• Monitor project progress and report risks, delays, and quality issues to project leadership
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, and as-built documentation
• Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Ensure compliance with RTA safety requirements and construction sequencing standards
• Coordinate with design teams to resolve technical queries and engineering challenges
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and inspectors
• Participate in coordination meetings with contractors and consultants to ensure alignment

Ideal Profile

• Strong experience in structural engineering and QA/QC within infrastructure projects
• Proven background in roads, bridges, and highway construction projects
• Knowledge of UAE standards and RTA regulations
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD Pro
