Job summary

Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company PJSC seeks a senior fixed transmission operations specialist to manage 24/7 incident handling, alarm monitoring, and fault escalations across carrier-grade networks.

You will optimize alarms, develop automation scripts, perform health checks on OTN/SDH/OSN equipment, and support disaster recovery and business continuity. A bachelor’s in telecom/EC and 5 years in fixed transmission are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Telecom or Electronics & Communications Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years of hands-on operational experience in fixed Transmission in carrier-grade networks.
• Thorough knowledge of alarms and faults in fixed Transmission network technologies.

Responsibilities

• Handle incident/CR management and 24/7 alarm monitoring in shifts.
• Monitor major fault alarms and escalate to management or SLO, improving TT SLAs.
• Share alarm/incident/TT information with management and technically approve CRs.
• Document and implement SoC internal innovative/digital initiatives to improve efficiency in operations.
• Perform periodic health-checks of transport network solutions with automation scripts.
• Bring alarm optimization by reducing non-actionable alarm floods.
• Maximize use of existing tools and adopt dashboards/monitoring tools.
• Fully support disaster recovery and business continuity activities of fixed transmission network.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

• Effective incident/CR handling and Alarm monitoring for fixed Transmission network domains on 24/7 basis in shifts.
• Ensure to monitor all major/critical fault alarm, timely escalation to Management/SLO and improve TT SLAs.
• Share information for alarms/incidents/TTs to management, also approve CRs technically involving monitoring outage.
• Document, Plan and execute various SoC internal innovative/digital initiatives to bring efficiency in operations.
• Perform periodic health-checks of transport network solutions/devices by implementing automation scripts.
• Bring alarm optimization by arranging reduction of non-actionable alarm flood.
• Maximize the use of existing tools and adopt newly enabled Dashboards/monitoring tools.
• Fully support disaster recovery and business continuity activities of fixed Transmission network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Telecom or Electronics & Communications Engineers or equivalent diploma in same field of study.

Experience

• 5 years of hands‑on operational experience in fixed Transmission in carrier grade networks.
• Thorough knowledge of alarms and faults about various fixed Transmission network technologies.

Skills

• Knowledge and skills about faults/alarms about transmission equipment (OTN, SDH, ITMC, OSN, Infinera). Huawei equipment’s i.e. Optix BWS1600G, optix OSN 9800&8800&6800&7500&3500&1500, NOKIA equipment’s i.e. PSS64 & PSS32 & PSS36 & PSS16. test equipment (E1 Tester, SDH Analyser, GE Tester, Power Meter)
• Skills in automation of fixed Transmission networks.
• Skills in complex problem Solving, inter/intra team collaboration, excellent communication, initiative/Commitment to Achieve
